As everyone knows Mac matte lipsticks are the best ones. I have used Ruby woo from the retro matte range which is very good bright shade and have already reviewed in my previous article. So, I always wanted to try a nude color but was afraid as it would look pale on me. I have NC 42 skin tone of Mac, so I thought to give Mac velvet teddy a try as I had heard a lot about it. After using it for i a while ,I quite liked it so I thought to share my first impressions on it.
Mac matte lipstick on me
I was ecstatic to have found the nude shade that suits my skin tone. It is a beige color of deeper tone. I usually wear it with heavy eye make up for parties. I also put it when I am out in the morning. Neither does it chap my lips no does it look cakey or creasy on lips. Although it is a matte lipstick but it not very drying on lips and that is the reason why I love Mac matte lipsticks the most.
The finish is smooth even if I don’t top it with a lip gloss which I hardly do for some lipsticks. It stays intact on my lips for 5 hours which I think is good enough and it doesn’t completely fade away later, some traces are still visible.
Before buying Mac velvet teddy I was a bit skeptical as it would completely fade my face but now I am glad that I thought of giving it a try. It comes in a 3 gm package for Rs 1500. The matte lipsticks are usually well pigmented and the velvet teddy shows up in a single swipe but I personally like to apply two coats as I find that it lasts for some extra hours on my lips.
